What to Expect
Step into the lost kingdom of Ayutthaya, where towering temple ruins and timeless Buddha images reveal the grandeur of ancient Siam.
Founded in 1350, Ayutthaya flourished for over four centuries as the wealthy and cosmopolitan capital of Siam. Merchants from across the world established settlements here, making it one of the world’s most vibrant trading hubs. At its peak, the city had over a million inhabitants and was compared by French envoys of King Louis XIV to Paris in size and splendor.
The kingdom fell in 1767 when it was destroyed by Burmese forces, but today its evocative ruins remain a powerful reminder of Thailand’s rich heritage. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1991, Ayutthaya is one of the most remarkable cultural destinations in Asia.
This full-day tour combines stunning royal architecture, impressive temple ruins, and timeless Buddha images.
